Very Wet June in Kansas!
Despite an abnormally wet June, wheat harvest and double cropping beans have been completed! The week of June 23rd we received rain almost every day and weren’t able to harvest. Once it did start to warm up the next week, it was full steam ahead with spraying, cutting, ground working and double cropping.
The corn and beans look amazing. It really turned out to be the best of both worlds!
The maps below are from http://water.weather.gov/precip/ and show how much total rain Kansas received in June as well as the deviation from normal. You’ll see we received 2-4 inches more than we typically do in June! (Click on the images to see a larger picture.)
